The 4th OceanAlpha USV(Unmanned Surface Vessel) technology workshop

Home / News / The 4th OceanAlpha USV(Unmanned Surface Vessel) technology workshop

On 11th Dec.2017 there are total 14 agents from more than 10 countries around the world gathering in Oceanalpha located in Zhuhai, China to accept the USV technology training, among which some are from hydrographic surveying companies based in United States, Australia, Chile which are mainly dedicated to bathymetric survey of dam, tailing ponds and other mining area, others are environmental companies from Poland, India and Thailand, specializing in the water quality sampling and such as lake reservoir, revers ,coastal area and major in water quality monitoring parameters: PH, dissolved oxygen, temperature, opacity, conductivity, COD etc.

Also the unmanned system field in Middle East showed great interest and participated in this workshop. They are expected to coordinate UAV with USV applying to secure and patrol field.

From 12nd to 14th Dec., total 3days training were successfully held in Oceanalpha headquarter.

The first training day is Welcoming and Company presentation:

Oceanalpha established in April, 2010 is a professional company focusing on USV ( Unmanned Surface Vehicle) development offering world-leading USV solutions for water environment sampling& monitoring, hydrographic survey, oceangraphic survey, nuclear radiation monitoring and water surface cleaning ,etc.
Oceanalpha concentrates on the R&D, production, sales and services of civilian USVs.

The company’s professional teams of specialists can provide consultation, services and overall solutions on USV products.

In the afternoon of the first training day, our sales and engineers presented the applications and principles of our top sales model ESM30 and SURF20 and demonstrated for the agents in the testing lake. All of the agents are very interested in the models and shows great enthusiasm to study and discuss with our engineers.

ESM30--autoanomous sampling and monitoring boat featured by its standardized water sampling, salt lake sampling, evaporation pond sampling and on-line water quality mobile monitoring is the first unit of environmental unmanned surface vessel in the world designed by Oceanalpha Co., Ltd. based in Zhuhai, China.

ESM30 offers the professional solutions promptly and efficiently to the problems of Eutrophication and emergent water pollution accident, responding fast to water pollution accident, which can be compatible with most of multi-parameters water quality sondes widely used including EXO2,Eureka probe, Sontek M9 and YSI probe to monitor water quality as well as nuclear radiation monitoring in real time, navigating autonomously into pollution zone through setting up the route and task in advance on base station and automatically generating the water quality monitoring report.

Surf 20 is designed for water discharge measurement and hydrographic survey developed by Oceanalpha Co., Ltd located in Zhuhai, China focusing on the research and development of Unmanned Survey Vessels, compatible with different brands ADCP and single beam sonar, such as Teledyne RD Instruments workhorse RIO Grande, RDI, Sontek River Surveyor S5/M9, Link quest Flow quest and etc.. The robotic boat size is 1.25*0.46*0.3m and only 13kg weight which makes it maneuverable, compact, and could easily be operated by just one person and carried on the back of a SUV or a trunk. The maximum speed can reach 5.5m/s covered within 2km communication control range, so that the boat is suitable for most water current environment.

On the 2nd training day, ME40 is the main part of training content.

ME40--Autonomous Hydrographic survey boat is revolutionary force created by Oceanalpha in hydrologic investigation field, mainly applied to reservoir storage, dredge monitoring ,bathymetry hydrology survey and tailing dam and pond survey, featured by its extreme shallow draft , available for exploration on offshore coast, shoals and reefs enlarging explorable area. ME40 is a platform of autopilot vessel controlled by auto and manual mode switches and a new concept of hydrographic survey integrated with RTK & single-beam sonar offering accurate information by inertial navigation system, generating visible data diagram, correct survey data in real-time, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.

The last day of training is our new product M40A and TC40

M40A--Autonomous Survey Boat is medium size platform specified for hydrographic survey in coastal and ocean. With modular catamaran design and flexible payload for instruments, MA40 was developed to provide high performance survey with multi beam sonar and different kinds of hydrographic and monitoring instruments in ocean.

The dimension for M40A unmanned surface vehicle is 3.3*1.9*2.2m, weighing 450kg with 60kgs payload capability, made of Aluminum and carbon fiber materials suitable for high salinity seawater, and anti-corrosive .

Catamaran hull design greatly enhance sailing stability, enabling top survey speed to reach 4m/s, endurance reach 6 hours.

TC40 Unmanned Surface Vehicle is a platform of autonomous hidden sewer pipe detecting vessel as sharp weapons of environmental supervision, reacting promptly to water pollution accident emergency by tracking pollution source and detecting hidden sewer pipes by locating the pipes precisely by GPS , a real guardian of human lives.

TC40 is made of high strength fiber reinforced plastic material adopting catamaran hull design for stably sailing, which only weighs 20kg making it easy to carry and operate.

TC 40 USV compatible with RTK and side scan sonar can be able to quickly detect and find the hidden sewer pipes buried at the bottom of rivers or lakes by profiling images of sub-bottom& river banks and locating the pipes precisely by GPS max detecting range within 100m.
